Hi, I'm Clayton Grey.
I spend a lot of time thinking critically about process and outcomes. I love complex systems and enjoy reducing their complexity through thoughtful design. I have an affinity for node-based workflows and flowcharts. I have a zeal for tabletop games. I love building software with a good team. I'm interested in further developing my people-management skills.
I work best under, and favor, consultative leadership styles. I have a knack for social dynamics and team composition. I'll speak with candor and step back when it's time.
I've had a mix of management and production roles in both independent and corporate settings-spanning startups and legacy organizations-and I've touched on nearly every aspect of making traditional and interactive entertainment.
As an engineer, I've worked on production code and tools for games and SaaS products, covering everything from porting existing software to building original applications. As an artist, I've created thousands (literally) of 3D models and materials in Blender. I've also spent time in video editing software-I've even cut 16mm film on a flatbed Steenbeck. I've worked on motion graphics, product photography, lighting, film, sound design, and music production, among other tasks.
Additionally, I co-founded a game publishing company, Laboratory Games, that utilized all of my skills. We ran several successful Kickstarters, creating digital games and tabletop hits. In total, we sold over 15,000 board and card games.
